Happy Valley Kennel is nestled in the hills of Middle Tennessee in the quaint town of Bell Buckle. Our mission is to produce, train and individually select high quality German Shepherd dogs with excellent dispositions, temperaments, bloodlines and high drives.
As a result of these high standards we have working dogs that are suitable as:
- Trained protection guard dogs
- Family oriented child safe companions & home security dogs
- Schutzhund sport dogs
- Service dogs including bomb & drug detection

Berlin earns SchH I!
Berlin recently earned his Schutzhund I title at a regional trial in Indiana, winning high Schutzhund I in the process. This breaking news comes via text message from Krista. Check back later for full details. Congratulations Berlin and Krista!
Aika bred to Bastin!
Planned for Spring 2009
Bastin, owned by Gary Hanrahan, is a German BSP Champion, a USA National Champion, USA World Team member, and world WUSV competitor. He does not peak on game day, he has consistently earned V ratings in every one of his titles and championships! We recently imported Aika from Germany to become a foudation of our breeding program. She comes from outstanding European working lines and we are excited to bring those lines into our program.
Volunteer Schutzhund Club Trial
Tennessee Volunteer Schutzhund Club held its first Schutzhund trial on May 24, 2008 in Franklin, TN. Among the accomplishments:
- Berlin and Aika earned BH titles.
- Aika earned the AD title.
- Gabor and Fanny earning high Schutzhund I titles.
- Carl Smith and Bodo vom Flutgraben earned high SchH II, high protection (98!), and high overall with a 98-91-98 score.
- Danny Spreitler and Ronnie earned their SchH III.
